Airmenta “Ment” Alexander of Tampa, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026, in Macon, Georgia, surrounded by her loving family. She was a woman of remarkable character and a loving nature. Fondly known as “Ment,” she proudly held the name Airmenta close to her heart. Born on October 14, 1950, in Tampa, Florida, she was the daughter of George Wynn, Jr. and Kathryn Welch. Airmenta dedicated her life to caring for others, working as both a nurse and a self-employed cosmetologist. Airmenta’s legacy is one of kindness and generosity, a testament to her beautiful spirit and gentle nature. She devoted her life to her family and took immense pride in being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her home was always a place of comfort, guidance, and unconditional love. She touched the lives of everyone she met, leaving a lasting impact that will forever be cherished and remembered.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Wynn Jr. and Kathryn Welch. 

Among those who survive her and deeply mourn her passing are her beloved husband, James “Larry” Alexander; loving daughter, Tamara Thomas; and her cherished grandchildren, Caren “Chelsea” Knight (Stephan), Kristoffer “Kris” Walker (Stacy), Arnika Walker, and Erron Walker. She is also survived by her sisters, Aurirenta Madison (Darryl), Yvonne Wynn, and Amanda Ramos; brothers, George Wynn (Sharonda), David Wynn (Nedra), and Anthony Wynn; cousins, Evelyn Lewis (Carl), Lucretia Evans, Alfonso Lewis, Jr. (Tracy), and Glover Cromartie; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Her life was a living example of compassion, strength, and devotion. Even in her passing, she continues to inspire her family and all who knew her. Airmenta “Ment” Alexander will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of many.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to an organization supporting Alzheimer’s disease and dementia awareness and research.
