Obituary

Alayne Dewey Mobley was born on October 14, 1954, to the late Fred and Beatrice Mobley. Alayne was a proud Tampa native who attended Hillsborough County Public Schools and graduated from Plant High School. Known for his adventurous spirit and generous heart, Alayne brought joy to everyone around him. In his younger years, he was often seen giving neighborhood kids rides on his motorcycle—famously parking it right inside the house. A lifelong Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan, Alayne found happiness in the simple pleasures of life, especially time spent with family and friends. He had a deep love for basketball and football, and when he wasn't working, he could often be found riding motorcycles or playing spades all day with loved ones. Alayne dedicated his career to TECO, working diligently as an electrical engineer until his retirement. He was a loving and dependable presence in the lives of many, making it a cherished tradition to take every child in the family to the fair each year—always ensuring no one was left out, often at his own expense.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Carolyn; parents, Fred Mobley, Sr., and Beatrice Mobley; and siblings, Fred Mobley, Jr., Tony Mobley, Elvet Mobley, Beverly Mobley-Lyons, Addie Yvette Bowers, Cheryl McCray, Yvonne Mobley, and Felton Mobley.

Alayne leaves to cherish his memory his beloved children, Ketasha Smith, Vantina Manley (S.M.), Alayne Mobley, Jr., and Leshay Mobley; bonus children, Katie, Michael, Malachi Baker, and Malcolm Baker; beloved uncle, James Porter (Stephanie); aunts, Antonia Essaw (Bobby), Marva Perry, and Shirley Porter; and grandchildren, Treshaun, Taya, DeAndre, Sharef, Nicole, and O'mari. He is also lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, Gordon McCray, Lakisha Lyons, Kenneth Lyons, Jerisha Lyons, Jamal Lyons, Ileana Walker, Towsie Broadnax, Joseph Broadnax, Jessica Bowers, Juliee Bowers, Beatrice Bowers, Ste'Van Mobley, Sophia Mobley, Ferrin Mobley, Joel Mobley, Darrian Walker; as well as a host of nieces and nephews, great- grandchildren.
