Obituary

A devoted Seventh-day Adventist Christian, a steadfast believer, and a voice of preaching in both her walk and her way of life. Lover of hymns and of the natural life, she found daily nourishment in her fruits and vegetables. Her living was to exercise both body and soul in Christ—and in that she remained faithful until the end. In her later years, doctors suspected a possible illness in her lungs. Yet she never lost her peace or her faith, nor did she concern herself with finding out if her body bore any malignant thing. She simply trusted in God, awaiting death in peace and without medical intervention. She lived as she wished: like a little free bird. Up until the day before her passing, she sang hymns—happy, joyful, and firm in her resolve not to contaminate her body with medicines or surgeries. She died in peace, without fear or anguish. Her children were her greatest treasure, and she never abandoned them. She was blessed to see them all survive her, leaving this life with the comfort of having been a faithful and devoted mother.

She is survived by her children: Ramón, Hilda, Barainis, Virgilio, Julio, Jorge, Manuel, Jacqueline, and Luis.

Her earthly life was an example of faith, joy, and strength. Now, we do not know with certainty if she already dwells in heaven as a celestial being who continues to watch over us, or if she rests in peace awaiting that day of resurrection when all who remain faithful in the Lord—just as she was—will be reunited. What we do know is that, for her goodness, kindness, and unwavering devotion as a Christian, her place with God is assured.
