Mrs. Alda Mae Parker "Ms. Mae" of 410 West Park Avenue, passed away on Monday, February 21, 2011. A Homegoing celebration will be held on Monday, February 28, 2011, 12:00 p.m. at Shepherd Church of God, 1310 Parkertown Road in Mooresville, North Carolina. Interment will be at Shepherd Church of God Cemetery. Mrs. Parker was born in Iredell County, North Carolina. Alda was educated in Unity High School. Alda was a longtime resident of Tampa, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Addie Mae Mills; brothers, Clinton-Jaylen Mills, John Ervin Mills and Grady Mills; sister, Ruth Leazer; husband, Phillip Parker, Sr. and sons, James Melvin Parker and Donnie Parker. She leaves to cherish her memories: 20 year companion, Govenor Smith; sons, Phillip Parker, Jr. and wife, Veronica, Leonard Parker and companion, Carlis Cousins, Larry Parker and wife, Lynda, Dennis Parker and wife, Shelia, Keith Parker and wife, LeQuita and Gregory Parker and wife, Ursula; 19 grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren; sisters, Annette Curuth and husband, Roy Leon-Curuth, Nadine Mills and brother, Chester Leazer; daughter-in-law, Bianca Parker; nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2011.
