A Homegoing Memorial Celebration for Mr. Alex Akili Slater of Tampa, Florida who passed away on, Tuesday, October 15, 2019, will be held on Saturday, October 26th, 11:00 a.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Timothy Lancaster, officiating. Alex was born July 7, 1971 in Long Island, New York. He attended the Epiphany of our Lord Catholic Church. He enjoyed watching Kung Fu movies with his favorite actor, Bruce Lee, riding his bicycle, fishing, running, basketball, computers and loved animals and his bible. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ernest and Geneva Norman, and Johnnie Capehart; great-grandmothers, Robert and Martha Lee Lewis, Thelma Guidry and Mable Charles; great uncles, Odell, Willie and Nathaniel Lewis; great aunt, Kathy Rodriguez; uncles, Johnnie Ray Capehart and Donald Bennett. He leaves to cherish his memories, devoted and loving parents, Lee R. and Charlene Capehart; brother, Taurean Capehart; grandmother, Lola Capehart; great aunts, Eloise Scott, Mary Jane Hoover, Glenda Norman, Mattie, Betty, Carrie, and Ida Lewis, Eunice Longworth and Flora Washington; great-uncles, Robert and R.D. Lewis and Joseph Capehart; aunts, Jacqueline Norman, Pamela Guidry, Martha Capehart, Patricia Bellamy, Mattie McAllister, and Mechelle Capehart; uncles, Darryl Norman, Ernest Norman, Jr., Lester McAllister, Raymond Calloway, Joseph Peter Guidry; a host of nieces and nephews; cousins, Angie Norman, Sheila Scott, Roy Gray, Dreya Scott; special friend, Jackie; friends, Michael Woodard (Janice), Greg Woodberry, Laura Penn, Latisha Penn, Skeevia, Jamarcus Daniel, Robert Thomas and Charles Gray (Diana). The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday for the memorial service.
