April 18, 1961 – November 27, 2023
Alfonso Gamble, Jr., affectionately known as "Junebug", was born on April 18th, 1961, in St. Petersburg, Florida, to the late Beatrice and Alfonso Gamble, Sr., The family later relocated to Tampa, Florida. He was educated in the Public School System of Hillsborough County. Alfonso moved back to Salter, South Carolina in 2004, residing with his aunt and a host of extended family. During that time, Alfonso worked at the Williamsburg Transit System of Kingstree, South Carolina. After returning to Tampa in 2016 he attended Lee Davis Community Center daily, where he enjoyed hanging out with his friends and family. He was a faithful member of Peace Progressive Missionary Baptist Church until his health began to fail. He later entered a nursing home and was not able to attend church regularly. Alfonso was a huge Tampa Bay Buccaneers football fan, he also enjoyed watching wrestling and dancing. He will be missed by his family, church family, and friends.
Alfonso was preceded in death by his parents, Alfonso Gamble, Sr., and Beatrice Brinson; grandmother, Pearl Smith; nephew, John Larry, Jr., and niece Shenika Blakely. He leaves behind cherished memories to his sisters; Lori (Lewis) Mingo, Patricia Gamble, and Cheryl Gamble; aunt, Betty Lou Bradley (South Carolina); uncle, Thomas Smith; nieces, Alisa Larry, Shamika Gonzale z(Alexander), Markesha Blakely, Lori Mcallister, and Tynesha Beasley; nephews, Maurice Larry, David Blakely, Jr., Jarvis Whitehead, Dontae Gamble, and Jamarius Gamble; Extended Family, Thaddeus Bradley (Barbara), Daniel Bradley (Gwen), Norman Bradley all of South Carolina, Timothy Bradley (Wanda) of Georgia, Lauramae Pasley, JoAnn McCrea (Gerome), Audrey Davis (Herman), Robin MCrea, all of South Carolina, Sandra Jamison (David) of Jacksonville, Florida; host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
