Homegoing services for Mr. Alfred Eugene Dixon of Tampa, Florida, who passed away on Monday, September 16, 2013, will be held on Saturday, September 21st, 10:00 a.m. at Allen Temple Church, 2101 Lowe Street, Pastor David Green, with Rev. Charles Cloy, officiating. Interment will be in Newnansville Cemetery, Alachua, Florida. Mr. Alfred Dixon was born September 18, 1948 in Alachua, Florida. He was a member of Greater Mt. Carmel A.M.E. Church. He was also a member of Phi Beta Sigma, Gamma Eta Sigma Chapter, Sons of Allen A.M.E Church Ministry, Bridges over Troubled Waters and Board member. He was preceded in death by his parents, Huritt and Theresa Jones Dixon; brothers, Hewritt Dixon, Jr. and Charles Williams and sister, Eunice Dixon Garrison. He leaves to cherish his memory with wife, Eleanor Owens Dixon; children, Andrea Dixon Mitchell (Isaac), Alfred E. Dixon, II (Stacey) and Adrien E. Dixon (Terri); grandchildren, Ashley Mitchell, A'Ani Dixon, Jadon Dixon, Ivy Mitchell, Alana Dixon, Islye Mitchell, Alfred Dixon, III, Emanuel Dixon and Isaiah Dixon; godchildren, Christopher McRae, Jaclyn Robinson and DeAndre Wong; brothers, Larry Dixon, Sr. (Shirley), Woodrow Dixon (Audrey) and Dwayne Dixon (Sandra); sister, Musheerah Shahid; sisters-in-law, Bertha M. Way and Lynda Sampson (Ambrose); aunts, Naomi Griffin, Julia Carolyn Keys (Willie D), Betty J. Mingo, Ida Pearl Johnson, Jessie Lee Jones and Josephine Jones; uncles, Samuel Jones (Lovella), Ernest Jones (Geraldine) and Rufus Dixon; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, godsisters, godbrothers and other relatives and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, September 20th, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. The family will receive friends from 7:30-8:30. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
