Obituary

Mr. Alphonso was born September 23, 1950 in Tampa, Florida. He was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and the Job Corp in Burns Oregon. Al furthered his education at Portland State University and he later married Gwen Davis, from their union three children were born. They lived in Portland, Oregon and later moved to Fresno, California. He loved helping older people and often visited convalescence homes, reading, talking and ministering to them and anyone he saw in need. He visited many churches and was a member of the Holiness Church. Before he became ill he was employed with the Staff Management Gator Temporary Services as a supervisor and other jobs that he was proud to have. Al, as he was affectionately called, was a man who loved people and at an early age he accepted our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as his personal savior. He was a person that if you knew him, you would love him. He will be missed by his family and those who knew him. Leaving loving memories for his family to share: Mother, Mrs. Viola Davis; children, Alphonso Davis, Jr. (Jackie), Patricia Davis, Angela Davis and their mother (Gwen), all of Fresno, CA; Alphonso Jackson of Tampa; numerous grandchildren; one brother, Lee Rogers Davis; two sisters, Beatrice Malone (Ralph), Rosa Lee Austin (Leon); one stepsister, Dorothy Williams; one aunt, Annie Laura; nieces, Iesha and Miesha Davis and Minnie Williams; nephews Willie Jones Jr. and family, Dwight Jones (Wanda) and family, Kenneth Higdon, Ralph Malone, Jr. (Stephanie) and family, and Carlton Curry; cousins, Rudolph Williams, James Williams (Dollie) and family, Albert Daniels, Jr. and family, Carlton Daniels and family, Marshall Daniels and family, Charlene Daniels and family, Parthenia Kelly and family, Walter Nelson Jr. and family, Robert Nelson and family, Helen Boerick, Anthony Robinson and family, Derrick Jackson and family, Sonya Williams and family, Gwen Williams and family, Sharpe family, Randolph Williams, Jr. and family, Inez Russell and family, all of Tampa, John Spearman and family, Wildwood, FL; Annie Bell Freeman and family, Irman Jean Barran and family, all of Coleman, FL; Geraldine Boatwright, Cocoa, FL and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, friends and Al's caregiver, Rifa Jones.
