Obituary

Homegoing service for Mrs. Altamease Chambers Anderson of Tampa, who passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014, will be held Saturday, March 15th, 2:00 p.m., at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Evangelist Constance Belin, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Altamease Chambers Anderson was born March 1, 1930 in Edison, Georgia, to the late John Henry, Sr. and Alma Chambers. She was married for 54 years to the late L. B. Anderson Sr., to their union four children were born; one child preceded her in death, L. B. Anderson, Jr. After marrying L.B. Anderson Sr. in 1947, they later relocated to Tampa, Florida in 1953 along with their young children. Altamease worked for various companies in the Tampa area, including the University of Florida and Dunlap Tire Company, from which she retired. In her retirement, she enjoyed her daily walks and she never missed her soap operas. She was renowned to her family for her fabulous pound and lemon cakes and yearly Thanksgiving Day dressing. Her siblings that preceded her in death were, Erma Armstrong, John Henry Chambers, Jr., Ruby Idlett, Katie Chambers and Wyolene Jenkins. She leaves behind to cherish fond memories: son, Harold Franklin Anderson, daughter, Ellomaise Anderson, son, Derrick Anthony Anderson, step-daughter, Loretta Anderson and step-son, Lyndon Anderson Sr.; daughter-in-law, Karen M. Anderson; grandchildren, Alison L. Anderson, Andrea A. Potter (Rico, Sr.), Harold F. Anderson Jr., Landon Anderson, Lamont Anderson, Crystal Anderson and Kimberly Anderson; great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Rico, Jr., Saivonne, Shayna and Aiden; great great granddaughter, Amiya Potter; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends. The visitation will be held at the Aikens Funeral home on Friday, March 14th, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the Aikens Chapel for the service on Saturday.
