Obituary

Homegoing Service for Mrs. Altamese Nelson Comer of Tampa who passed away, Monday November 16, 2015, will be held Saturday, November 21st, 11:00 a.m. at Macedonia M.B. Church, 3410 E. Wilder Ave., Elder Joseph A. Sykes, pastor with Elder Johnny Wright pastor of First Community Christian Church, officiating. The interment will be in Sarasota National Cemetery, Sarasota, Florida. Altamese Nelson Comer was born November 1, 1932 in Tampa, Florida to the late James Johnson and Bessie Floyd Johnson. She was a member of First Community Christian Church. She enjoyed watching basketball and football. Altamese was an Avon beauty products representative for many years and also worked for Honeywell for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter B. Comer; sisters, Erie Johnson Bacon, Edith Johnson, Annie Johnson Himes and Zelma Johnson Williams; brothers, Theodore James, Leonard James, Willie James, Joe B. and James Johnson, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory and carry on her legacy with her children, Sandra N. Carleston, Beverly Mosley (Luther), Carl Nelson (Judy) and Melvin Nelson (Dorothy); 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; brother, Lester James Johnson of Austin, TX; sister, Johnnie Mae Garner of Tampa, FL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends including best friend, Ira Ellison. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, November 20th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
