A memorial service for Mr. Alton Eugene Bass 'Baby Gene' of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017, will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Alton was born July 12, 1957 to the late Charlie and Susie Bass. He was known as 'Baby Gene'. He attended Hillsborough High School and because of his desire to be helpful, he was often found doing community service for various churches. His imagination was a gift and expressed at a young age, as an artist he drew science fictional characters as a hobby. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Susie Bass; uncles, Leon Coleman and George Coleman; aunt, Rose Overton. He leaves to cherish his precious memories with his aunt, Annie Bright of Tampa, FL; brothers, Louis Hall (Carrol) of Miami, FL, Charles Bass and Blair Bass (Tammy) of Tampa, FL; sisters, Leta Bond (Christopher) of Columbus, OH, Yvonne Bass and Ovita Dove of Tampa, FL; a host of nieces and nephews; a devoted friend, Kent Williams; a host of other loving relatives and friends. The friends are asked to meet at the funeral home on Friday for the service.
