In loving memory, we celebrate the life of Mr. Alvin Mack. Whom lived his life with an unselfish heart and unmovable faith in God. He was a pillar of strength in his community and served as the patriarch for his family, leaving a legacy of love and service. Mr. Alvin Mack was born November 29, 1929 in Clarendon County, South Carolina to the late Fred and Hattie Mack. He was affectionately called 'Daddy Mack' by his loved ones. He moved to Tampa, Florida, at the age of sixteen (16) for better opportunities. He was known as a compassionate, giving, and hardworking man. He joined the Greater New Salem Primitive Baptist Church in Tampa, Florida under the leadership of the late Elder Theodis Lane. Quietly and obediently, he served as a faithful member of the Trustee Board and anywhere he was needed. As Alvin's life continued to thrive, he met the love of his life, Ruby A. Timmons, and was united in holy matrimony on February 13, 1959. God blessed this union with 61 years of marital bliss and three beautiful daughters (Tina, Tonya, and Regina) and one grandchild (Alexy). With the opportunity to expand his career, Alvin began working as a Longshoreman where he retired as a Header where he trained for over 60 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his sidekick, granddaughter, Alexy. 'Daddy Mack' was an outdoors man and enjoyed working in his yard and volunteering with the landscaping of his church. He enjoyed watching game shows, like the Price is Right (Everything stopped for the Price is Right), Wheel of Fortune and Family Feud with Steve Harvey. He loved Steve Harvey's suits. His favorite sport was Baseball, and the Boston Red Sox was his favorite team. 'Daddy Mack', also enjoyed frying fish and shrimp for his family and friends. He answered God's call after a short illness on Sunday, January 3, 2021 around the hour of 6:30 p.m. Brother Alvin Mack was preceded in death by his father, Fred Mack; mother, Hattie Mack; brothers, Isaac Levy of Manning, SC, Collin and George Mack of Buffalo, NY, Robert Mack of Hallandale, FL; sister, Robertha Prince of Manning, SC; mother and father-in-law, Henrietta and Marvin Crawford of Tampa, FL; and sister-in-law, Essie Mae Talley of Tampa, FL; and God-daughter, Segrid White-Hosey. He leaves to cherish his precious memories with his loving wife, Ruby A. Mack; daughters, Tina M. Williams of Beverly Hills, California, Tonya L. Mack, Regina A. Mack and; grandchild, Alexy D. Cardenas of Orlando, Florida; sister, Vernell Ross (Charles), Evelyn Johnson (Charles), Nadine Waiters all of Buffalo, New York; sisters-in-law, Marie Mack of Hallandale, Florida, Emma Lee Williams and Mother Ann Ruth Crawford Porter; a host of nieces, nephews (Manning & Columbia, South Carolina; Buffalo, NY; Detroit, Michigan; Atlanta Ga.; Orlando & Hallandale, Fl. and other relatives; grandson-in-love, Terrance Anderson; special friends, Evelyn Robinson, Brother, Rogers and Charles Harrell. Alvin Mack legacy of faith, love, and wisdom will forever live in the hearts and minds of everyone he touched and nurtured. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home of Friday, January 15th from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. The Graveside Celebration for Mr. Alvin Mack will be held Saturday, January 16th , 10:00 a.m., at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4207 E. Lake Ave., Pastor, Benjamin Curry, of The Greater New Salem Primitive Baptist Church, officiating. We are following the CDC guidelines. The service will be lived streamed at aikensfuneralhome.com.
