Funeral Services for Mrs. Amelia E. Gibbons Nickles, "Millie", who passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2010, will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Greater Mt. Carmel AME, 4209 N. 34th Street, Rev. Dr. Charles Cloy, Pastor, Rev. Bryant Fayson, Jr. officiating. Mrs. Amelia Nickles, "Millie", was born on June 23, 1935, in Live Oak, FL. She enjoyed reading, singing and emailing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Nickles; son, Robert Earl Nickles; daughter, Mary Elizabeth Nickles Azor; mother, Eliza McCalvin Gibbons Holland; father, Mack Gibbons; sisters, Cora Williams, Mary Gibbons, Grace Hemmingway, Louise Gibbons and Louvenia Gibbons; brothers, Samuel Gibbons, Bud (Elijah) Gibbons and Oscar Lee Gibbons. She leaves to cherish her memories her four (4) daughters, Linda C. Nickles-Dukes, Sandra Renee Nickles Jones, Patricia Ann Nickles Banwo and Courtnay V. Nickles Pilcher; 14 grandchildren, Amelia Pringle, Iris Nicole Davis, Jacqueline Azor, Michael Powell, Jr., Mark Powell, Daniel Dukes, Tony Evans, Jr., LaVon Evans, Charles Foster, Jr., Adedayo Banwo, Bondurin Banwo, NaTia R. Pilcher, Darell D. Pilcher, Jr., and Sidney I. Clark; great grandchildren, Joseph Knight, LaTifah Graddy, Samiya Knight, James Williams III, Jaiden Cordell Ryner, Michael Sincere Powell, Noleigh Powell, Markeya Powell, Noble Evans, Keelan Spigner, Kaphrianna Pilcher and Adgriana Pilcher; sisters, Ruby Rothwell, Jacksonville, FL; sisters-in-law, Mary Gibbons, Live Oak, FL, Lillie Belle Hutchinson, White Springs, FL, and Judy Gibbons, Atlanta, GA; special cousins, Mary Adams, Washington DC, and Eddie Lee Curry (Flora), Jacksonville; aunts, Lillian McCalvin and Daisy McCalvin; a host of aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins; other relatives and special friends, Audrey Green was at her bedside up to her death, Lillie "Tossie" Milbry and Reana Haynes, longtime devoted friends of over 40 years. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday from 5-8 p.m. Family and friends are asked to meet at the church at 1:45 p.m. for the service on Saturday.
