A memorial service for Mr. Andrew J. Bryant of Tampa, who passed away, Thursday September 8, 2016 will be held Friday September 16th at 6:00 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Pastor Billy E. Chatham, officiating. Andrew 'Drew' the youngest of two children was born to Acquanetta Bryant, Newby (Nettie) on November 10, 1976 in Philadelphia. He was educated in the Philadelphia public school, until his mother relocated to Tampa, Florida in April of 1989. During that time Andrew worked various jobs including Mac papers, USPO and Walmart and attended church at Kingdom of Deliverance Worship Center, 2934 E. Hillsborough Ave. Tampa, FL 33610 with Pastor Billy E. Chatman. At 29 Andrew was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma and received chemotherapy. Andrew never let the disease keep him down and did not dwell on his illness or talk about it; he was the quiet type most people who knew him didn't know of his illness. Andrew loved going to amusement parks, playing chess, video games, shooting pool, watching movies and playing basketball. Andrew was preceded in death by his father, James A. Shepard; grandparents, James and Gwendolyn Bryant; uncles, Stanley and James Bryant and aunt, Carol J. Duckett. Andrew leaves to cherish his fond and loving memories with his mother, Acquanetta Bryant Newby; stepfather, Louis Newby; brother, Ronald Bryant (Aisha); son, Andrew J. Bryant, Jr; aunt, Angela B. Willis (David) of Sumter, SC and Sarah Bryant of Philadelphia, PA; step-sister, Tiara Glover; step-brother, Lorn Newby; and a host of sorrowing relatives and friends of Philadelphia, New York, Richmond, Maryland, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Texas, California and New Jersey. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Friday for the service.
