A homegoing celebration for Min. Andrew FitzMaurice McKenzie of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018 will be held Saturday, October 6th, 2:00 p.m. at Springhill M.B. Church, 8119 E. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Rev. Eugene Garnett, pastor; Rev. Cleveland Lane, pastor of First M.B. Church of Highland Pines, officiating. The interment will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida. Andrew was born April 2, 1966 in Kingston, Jamaica. After graduating from Leto High School, class of 85', he went to the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany. Upon leaving the military he received his photography degree from Southeast School of Photographic Studies and also a degree from International Academy of Design. He was a faithful member of First M.B. Church of Highland Pines where he served as a Sunday school teacher, deacon and later became a minister. Andrew enjoyed studying and teaching the word of God and spending time with family. He was a professional photographer. He leaves to cherish his precious memories with his wife, DeCarlo McKenzie; children, Brandon A., Xzavier A., Jordan V., Jazmyn V. and Zane J. McKenzie; parents, Edward and Joyce McKenzie; sister, Andrea Caldwell (Kenny); aunt, Merle Logan; niece, Taylor Caldwell; nephews, Everett and Malcolm Caldwell; mother-in-law, Beatrice Pittman Walker; a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, October 5th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service. In lieu, of flowers please make a donation to First M.B. Church of Highland Pines in honor of Min. Andrew McKenzie.
