Homegoing services for Bishop Angeline Patterson who passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2011, will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Pentecostal Church of God, 509 E. Columbus Drive, Bishop Leroy Byrd, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Bishop Angeline Patterson was born on October 21, 1923, to Deacon Perry Mitchell and Victoria Doctor-Mitchell in Colleton, South Carolina. She was the last living sibling out of six: Bertha Mae Mitchell, Richard Mitchell, Johnnie Mitchell, Addie Lee Mitchell and Leola Mitchell. She moved to Tampa, Florida, in 1945. Bishop Angeline Patterson served in the ministries for over 50 years at St. Paul Pentecostal Church of God, "Where she loved to have a glorious time in the Lord." She loved to give you an encouraging word. She was preceded in death by her son, David Mitchell and daughter, Dorothy Mae Miller. She leaves to cherish her memories and will be missed by a very devoted daughter, Antoinette Patterson; grandchildren, David Mitchell, Jr., wife, Melody, Kimberly Mitchell, Lilwanda Miller, Maria Miller, Larry Miller, Belinda Monzon and husband, Francisco Monzon, Tangela Andrews, and husband, Charlie Andrews, Victoria Moore and Antonio Miller, Antonio Jelks, Reginald Jelks III and wife, Brittany, DeVante' Patterson and Paul Patterson, 27 great grandchildren; 11 great, great grandchildren; devoted niece, Susie Mitchell-Grubbs and nephew, Willie Lee Grubbs; daughter-in-law, Gloria Mitchell; and a host of other loving nieces, nephews, family and friends of Tampa and South Carolina. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, January 21st from 5-8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5-6 p.m. Family and friends are asked to meet at the church at 1:45 p.m. for the service on Saturday.
