Obituary

Homegoing celebration for Mrs. Annie Mae Banks of Tampa, FL who passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015 will be held Saturday, April 4th, 2:00 p.m. at St. John Progressive M.B. Church, 2504 E. Chipco Street, and Rev. Bartholomew Banks, officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Annie Mae Banks was a member of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Herbert Mcfadden, pastor. She enjoyed cooking, cleaning, gardening, attending daycare and church. She was preceded in death by parents, John and Mallisse Randolph; sister, Angie Mary Smith; brothers, Rev. Albert Thomas, Sr., James John (OC) and Rev. Boston Taylor; son, Rev. Paul Robinson, Sr. and great granddaughter, Tomani Gravette. She was once employed by Cesar and Adela Gonzmart of Columbia Restaurant as a maid. She also worked for New Orleans, Honeywell and Lee Moffitt Hospital. Upon retirement she became a client for New Orleans now known as River Oaks adult daycare. Annie was very fashionable and known for her nine ear piercings. She loved to wear hats and loved to sing "Jordan River" and "Walk around Heaven" all day. She leaves to cherish her memories with son, Roosevelt Baker (Ellie), of Havanna, FL; daughters, Sara Smith and Annie Ruth Smith; daughter-in-law, Songy Robinson; sister-in-law, Flossie Thomas, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; grandchildren, Derek (Hope) of Palm City, FL, Keivi (Seanda) of Texas, Kimberly McNealy (Jeff), Katina and Rawn, Greta, FL, Jasmine McLeod, Paul and Dantrecia Robinson, Marco (Anita) Mallard, Dietrick Sutherland, Terrance Mingo (Keisha), Tallahassee, FL, and Katreciea Smith; great grandchildren, St. Clair, Sydney and Symone Baker, Palm City, FL, Kelvi Baker, Jr., Austin McNeil, Jada McNealy, Katerica, Larawnda, Kiarra Washington, Marshanna, Tyrece, Darious, Mario, Jr., and Amani Mallard, Deyanni, Delani, Marcus and Jayden Sutherland, Terriyonne, Harmony and Zy'Keria Mingo, Ray'Niya and Raymond Neal, Jr., Dreshaun House, Antionette Gravette, the Smith family of Gretna, FL, Ethel and Carol Marshall; and a host of other relatives and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
