Homegoing services for Mrs. Annie Louise Bateman Cobb of 1615 Hacienda Ct., who passed away, Friday, October 1, 2010, will be held Saturday, October 9th, 2:00 p.m., Aikens Funeral Home Chapel 2708 E. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd, Rev. W.L. Jackson, officiating. Interment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Cobb was born in Sumter County, Georgia on June 24, 1930 to the parents; late Mr. Edd Bateman and the late Mrs. Minnie Dean Bateman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Cobb; son, Rea Cobb; daughter, Dorothy Everett; 3 brothers, Dean Bateman, Charles Bateman, Sr. and David Bateman and sister, Eddie Lee Bateman Lewis. She leaves to cherish her memories 8 children; 4 sons, Jessie J. Bateman and wife, Willie Pearl of Americus, GA, Bennie W. Cobb and wife, Gloria of Americus GA, Morel Cobb, Sr., and wife Jacquelyn and Willie T. Cobb and wife, Debra; 4 daughters, Rosa M. Wooden and husband, Otis, Annie Haywood, Rebecca Johnson and husband, Charles Sr., and Barbara Cobb; 1 brother, Robert Bateman; 2 sisters, Mamie Prater and Daisy Bateman all from Americus, GA; 37 grandchildren; 73 great-grand children; 5 great- great grandchildren; a host of nieces; nephews; including devoted nephew, Douglas Bateman and other relatives and friends. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, October, 8th from 5 to 8 p.m. The Family will receive friends from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Family and friends are asked to meet at the church for the service Saturday.
