Homegoing Services for Mrs. Annie Mae Byrd, of 1306 17th Street, who passed away on Friday, April 3, 2009, will be held Saturday, April 11th, at 11:00 a.m., at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 3005 E. Ellicott Street, with Rev. Dr. T. W. Jenkins, pastor officiating. Interment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Byrd was born on August 3, 1915 in Oakfield, Georgia. She was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church for the past 58 years, where she served in Choir #1, Usher Board #2, and the Sr. Women's and Sunday school class. Mrs. Byrd worked as a cosmetologist and worked for Tampa General Hospital for many years. Mrs. Byrd was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Byrd; parents, Jessie Fleming and Lillie Ford Fleming; grandson, Ray Barnes; granddaughter, Wanda Tarver; brothers, Willie Fleming, Henry Fleming, and Brandon Fleming; and sisters, Ceola Gaye and Rose Fleming. She is survived by her children, Lillie Milbry, Mattie Tarver (Willie) and Gertrude Wilborn (Willie); grandchildren, William Jackson, Cynthia Breedlove Porter, Anthony Wilborn, Mae Wilborn, Brenda Jackson, Reginald Milbry, Pamela Milbry, Michael Jackson, Yolanda Wilborn, Darryl Wilborn (Debbie), Valerye Wilborn, Myra Milbry, Cheryl Milbry and Charles Milbry; 21 great grandchildren to include, Raquel Porter, Euonia "Nikki" Wilborn and Paula Jackson; 12 great-great grandchildren, to include, Tony Claven, Lyrik Courtney and Cordell Brown; niece, Artrye Green (Prince); godchildren, Doretha Taylor and Larry Taylor; dearest friends, Carrie Morgan, Mary Lane, and Pastor Terry and Johnnie M. Smith. The remains will repose at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, April 11th, from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. The funeral cortege will arrange from 1511 E. McBerry Street.
