A homegoing celebration for Mrs. Annie Ruth Ford Gregory of Tampa, Florida who passed away, Wednesday, June 1, 2016, will be held Saturday, June 11th, 11:00 a.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., a local minister will officiate. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida. Annie Ruth Ford Gregory was one of nine children, born August 8, 1945 in Lakeland, Florida to the late Clifton Clark Ford and Corine Bryant Ford. Mrs. Gregory moved to Tampa, Florida in 1955 and was educated in Hillsborough County, graduating with honors from Middleton Senior High, class of 1963. She was awarded a full scholarship to Tuskegee Institute; however, she chose to unite in holy matrimony with the late Robert O. Gregory and raise her children dedicating her time and efforts to her family. She was a devoted and faithful member of Mt. Olive M.B. Church for over 50 years, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. C.P. Epps. She continued worshipping more recently at Rivers of Life Christian Ministries and New Walk of Zephyrhills. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers, Clifton C. and Archie L. Ford; sisters, Wanda M. and Shirley D. Ford and Doris J. Pearson; sister-in-law, Deloris Ford; aunts, Mary L. Bryant, Ruth B. Powell and Juanita Bryant and uncles, Otis and Leroy Bryant, lifelong best friend, Dorothy J. Jones. She leaves to cherish her loving memories with her children, Greg Van Gregory (Ceclie), Nikki Gregory Barnes (Erik), Patricia Loretta Pearson, Setura Anne Gregory and Karrin Ophelia Gregory; grandchildren, Greg V. Gregory II (Cyntrena), Jordan D. and Justin D. Coleman (Derrica), Mydre' R. Montina, Katiana N. Cox, Hailey I. A. Barnes, Kenyari M. White, Kamryn A. Fabre', Khaleb M. Hill, and Kamal R. Norton; great grandchildren, Greg V. Gregory III and Amir R. Coleman; brothers, Robert L. Ford (Mattie) and Alfonzo C. Ford (Maryann); sister, Barbara L. Ford (John Reddick); nieces, Marketa Reed (Perry), Mary Dean Vereen (Robert), Conchita Pearson, Angela, Roschella and Lori Ford, Tonya Watson (Mark), Alexandria Keyes (John),Latrena Wimbley, Tangala Scott Teriyonal Green (Cornell), Taranda Ford, Dionne Taylor (Ricky) and; nephews, Sylvester Scott (Selena), Robert L. Ford, Jr.(Melissa), Alfonzo C. Jr., and Ali Ford, Jimmie Floyd, Sanford Miller, Darby Davis, Pedro Pearson and Antonio Brown; cousins, Louches J. H. Powell, Jr., Benjamin Anderson, cousin/sister Franchesta Price; nieces/daughters; Tanya Cole-Harris, Frances Cole, Wanda 'Cookie' Brown (Alvin), and Tracye Henderson; cousin/son, Kendall Price (Tracey); cousin/daughter, Aleshia Price; and a host of other sorrowing relatives, church family and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, June 10th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel on Saturday June 11th at 11a.m.for the service.
