Obituary

Homegoing services for Mr. Anthony Maurice Gilmore of Tampa who passed away on Thursday, January 1st, will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015, 2:00 p.m. at Friendly Missionary Baptist Church, 1901 N. Central Ave., Rev. Johnnie Miller, Pastor with Rev. Robert Pirant, officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Anthony was born February 2, 1954 in Tampa, Florida. Anthony attended the schools of Hillsborough County. He loved watching football, riding bikes, going to cookouts, hanging out with his friends and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Smith, son, Anthony M. Gilmore, Jr., daughter, Tellecia Johnson, brothers, Forrest Gilmore and Patrick Smith and sister, Patricia Small. He leaves to cherish his loving memories with his devoted wife, Sharon "Penny" Gilmore; loving children, Ornica Gilmore, Therica "Shan" McCrae (Oma), Amin Gilmore, Jamal, Jeremy and Vincent Strange and Patrick; grandchildren, Dimitria Holton, Tyreik Coachman, Antonio, Angel and Tangelia Gilmore, Andrenisha Wright, Jamarion and Jalecia Strange, JaQuez Martin, Daviantaye and Kan'Yon Johnson, Arriajah Cobb, LoRonda Sandlin; great grandchildren, Antonio, Taylor, Carmelo, Caleb, Jayicon and KaYonni; his beloved mother, Maxine Smith; brothers, Christopher, Kenny (Rolanda) and Marvin Smith; sisters, Jacqueline Gilmore-Permer (Billy) and Mary Archie (Charles); aunts, Elizabeth Aside, Joann and Monia Hughes, Emma Taylor, Sharine Gibson, Tellen Taylor (Rev. Norman Taylor); sister-in-law, Miriam Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; best friend, Freddie Sturks; devoted friends, Paul Johnson, Dennis Collins, Mary Daniels, Shirley Strange, Eddie Lamar, Rev. Robert Pirant (Carol), Carolyn McCoy; devoted family friends of Central Park, the Harrisons, Singletons, Williams and Collins; his co-workers, The Hardware Imagination Tech Crew; and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, January 9th, from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive guest from 5 to 6 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on the Saturday for the service.
