Our dearest "Speedy" was born in Tampa, FL on August 16, 1955. He was educated in Hillsborough County and attended Chamberlain High School, class of 1973, he further studied at FAMU. He worked in the car industry for over 40 years and retired in 2018. He loved his children and family and enjoyed football and golfing. He was a member of New Bethel Progressive Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Reginald.T. Webb.
He was preceded in death by his father; Arthur L. Capers; grandparents, aunt, and loving cousins.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories his mother, Pauline Capers; daughters, Afrika Capers and Jawhara Graham; sons, Josiah and Jordan Capers; grandchildren, DeJon Capers, DeKyra Thomas, and DeJuan Amos; sisters, Pearl Gibson, LaShawn Capers Huff, and Brenda Capers; nephews, Joseph and Anthony Mingo, Kevin Huff (Angela), Jamaal Huff (Melissa) and James Capers (Cynthia); nieces, Wanda Scruggs, Sheila Mingo, and Eboni Anderson; great-nephews, Darius Scruggs, Tahiem Carr, Rueben and Malik Martinez, Camron and Seth-Aaron Huff, JaSynt Capers, Xion , Kyson, and Kadyn Huff; great-nieces, Latrell Dejesus (Jose), Tyisha Combs (Edward), Almetya Carr, Janea Collins, Zyah , Jazlyn, and Allyson Huff; cousins, Elder Sarah Thomas, Zemmie Jones, Kenya Ruan, and Pretoria Richardson; special friends, Pebble Cunningham, Hiram Wallace, Ray Bailey, Darius McCarthy, Rev. Felix Walters, and Reggie White.
