Homegoing services for Arimus A. Marshall Dixon of Tampa, who passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2012, will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at New Salem Primitive Baptist Church, 1605 N. Nebraska Avenue, with Rev. Theodis Lane pastor, officiating and the Eulogy by Chaplain, Colonel Richard E. Spearman, Jr. Interment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery. Arimus was born in Tampa, Florida on May 7, 1979 to Johnnye Marshall Dixon and Charles Dixon, Jr. At an early age, Arimus accepted Christ and was baptized at New Salem Primitive Baptist Church. During his younger years, he and Demetrius were inseparable throughout his time with his maternal grandparents and aunt, Brenda. They were very loveable, curious and full of excitement. As Arimus parents relocated, he was raised in various cities throughout the Country with Kamau and Johnnye Marshall Hall. He attended Saint Petersburg, Jr. College, Clearwater, FL and Blinn College, College Station, TX. He was employed as a Security Manager at the Lodge Restaurant & Lounge in Tampa, FL. His previous employers were Seminole Hard Rock Casino and Air Tran Airlines. Arimus had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. He touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity and maintained his trade mark of hugs and kisses with a side of humor. He enjoyed sports and was a true video gamer. However, he was ecstatic when he became engaged to Beatrice and overwhelmed with joy when he became a new father. Arimus was preceded in death by grandparents, John and Emily Marshall; great grandmother, Amelia Beasley; great aunts, Mattie Ponder and Willie Bea Ford. He leaves to mourn: sons, Adonis and Malik; fiancAC.e, Beatrice Olivier; father, Kamau Hall; mother, Johnnye Marshall-Hall; paternal father, Charles A. Dixon, Jr. and Emma of KS; Paternal grandparents, Attorney Charles and Attorney Barbara Dickson, Sr.; brother, Demetrius Marshall (Andresea Jackson); sister, Asa Hall-Herman (Jason) of Seattle, WA; loving aunts, Gloria Taylor, Brenda Marshall, Linda Spearman (Col Richard Spearman), Tallahassee, FL, Ruth M. Dailey, Vallejo, CA, Attorney Amelia Vanwinkle and Edna Dixon of Atlanta, GA; uncles, Willie Davis, Attorney Robert Dixon of Atlanta, GA, Richard A. Whiteside of Vallejo, CA; cousins, Dwayne Taylor, Sonia Taylor, Karis Spearman of Woodbridge, VA and Richard Spearman III of WDC, Ola Lee Morrow of Tifton, GA; niece, Analiesa Marshall; nephews, Demetrius Marshall, Jr., Donovann Marshall, Anderson Marshall; special friend of the family, Adam Golin and Andrew Parks; and a host of other relatives and friends. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, January 20th, from 5-8 pm. The family will receive friends from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Family and friends are asked to meet at the Church on Saturday.
