Homegoing services for Miss. Azariah Evelyn Yazmeen Lewis of 1514 Thistledown Drive who passed away on Wed., Feb. 25th will be held on Sat., March 7th at 11:00 am at St. John Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, 2504 Chipco Street with Rev. Bartholomew Banks, Pastor officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Azariah Lewis was born in Tampa, Florida to her parents, Otelia Alona Jones and Anthony Ezekiel Lewis. She was home schooled and attended Yates Elementary. Azariah loved music and expressed her excitement and pleasure by dancing and clapping her hands. Zaria loved attending church at St. John Progressive Missionary Baptist Church and was a faithful Sunday School student. Her favorite past time was playing with her cousin Trayla, having her grandma and Trayla read the bible and Dora the Explorer books, and eating Cheetos with her granddad (big time). She loved spending time with her god parents and aunt, Inia Walker. Zaria will forever be remembered for her sweet spirit, beautiful smile and gorgeous hair. She leaves to cherish her memories: her grandparents, Erick and Olivia Williams and Melvin A. and Bernice Lewis, Jr.; great grandmother, Ruth Lewis; parents, Otelia Alona Jones and Anthony Ezekiel Lewis; brothers, Aaron, Jermaine and Jayden; godparents, Robert and Sheila Bradley, Sr. and Rev. David and Shirley Jones, Sr.; aunts, Candace Williams, Nikkey Nesmith and Tiffany Belisle, Edith , Juanita, Patricia, Candace Nealy, great aunts, Ina May Walker, Vadie Bradley, Cassie Tinsley, Thelma Taylor and Latara Taylor; great-great aunts, Virginia Gooding, Inez Sanders, Katie Bryant and Martha Taylor; uncle, Earvin Nesmith; great uncles, Theodore Taylor, Rudolph Walker, Charles Bryant, Jerry Lewis, Alden Lewis, Daniel Lewis and Dennis Lewis; great-great uncles, J. B. Taylor and James Kendricks; guardian uncle, Andrew Rodney; cousins, Trayla Nesmith, Shaquanda, Earvin, Jr., Enia, Shanta, Reggie and Dominique, Benny, Rica (Darius), Betty, Rhonda, Emon, Bobby and Robbie Smith, Kadef, Kadesha, Rob Ealy; Tinsley, Everett, Sanders and Scott families; special thanks are extended to the St. John P.M. The remains will repose at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, March 6th from 5-8 pm. The family will receive friends from 6-7 pm. The funeral cortege will arrange from, 1514 Thistledown Drive.
