Obituary

Homegoing services for Mrs. Barabara Louise Black of 3007 E. Louisiana Avenue, who passed away, Sunday, February 8, 2009, will be held Saturday, February 14th, 11:00 a.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Donald Yeoman, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Black was a native of Hendry County, Florida and a longtime resident of Tampa. She attended the schools of Hillsborough County and was a graduate of Middleton High School. During her high school years she was a basketball player. She also attended Bethune Cookman College, where she also played basketball. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Lucille C. Thomas and Robert Forrest and step-father, Reliford Thomas. She leaves to cherish her memories: children, Warren A. Forrest, Sandra L. Black-Flood, Tyrone Black and adopted son, Ricky Carter; grandchildren, Lynnette E. Flood, Cassandra T. Flood, Marquise Dixon, Shaniquah Murray, Essence Black and Brianna Black; great grandchildren, Kassandra M. Flood, Robert D. Kelley, Antionette C. Prater-Flood, Sereniti Dixon, Ramiyah A. Flood-Dawson, Mye'Asia M. Murray and Mah'Kye C. Murray; nieces, Jeanine Miller-Dennis, Patricia Petty, Rose Ann Wigfall and Marilyn Wigfall; nephews, Terry Wigfall and John Wigfall; The Conaway, Forrest, Williams and Chester families; special friends, McDaniels-Sherman, Russ and Coley families; and a host of other family and friends. The remains will repose at Aikens Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday evening. The funeral cortege will arrange from 3007 E. Louisiana Avenue. Friends are asked to assemble at the chapel approximately 10:45 a.m Saturday for the service.
