Barbara Bostic
Jolly
June 28, 1941 – May 8, 2021
Barbara was born June 28,1941 in Tampa Florida to her parents, James Leavertis Stevens,Sr,. and Betrice Stevens Lasing. She attended public schools in Hillsborough County and graduated from Middleton Senior High School, Class of 1960. Barbara worked with the Tampa Housing Authority for several years, the City of Tampa as a meter maid, the American Building Maintenance as supervisor and the Hillsborough County School System. Barbara gave her life to the Lord at a young age at the First-Born Church of the Living God Holiness Church, where she grew in the Lord and was ordained as a Missionary. She later became a member of First Baptist Church of College Hill, where she sang in the Senior Adult Choir and was well known as the Sister with the Tambourine. Barbara loved the Lord, His word, and her Church. For the past few years, Barbara's passion was attending church (any church would be okay) where she would sing songs of praise and worship to the Lord while playing her tambourine and listening to His Word. Barbara loved her family, her friends, and their friends, her doors were open to anyone in need. She was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand, no matter the need. On the weekends she loved cooking her signature Crab Pots and would feed the neighborhood. Barbara answered her heavenly call. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Mr. Jasper Jolly Sr., her father, Mr. James Leavertis Stevens Sr., parents, Mrs. Beatrice Stevens Lasing and Deacon Edmund Lasing, sister-in-law, Maureen K.
