Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Barbara J. Langston Williams of Tampa who passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2013, will be held on Saturday, September 21st, 11:00 a.m., at Rivers of Life Church, 301 Lakewood Dr., Brandon, Florida, 33511 Pastor Michael McDaniel, officiating. Interment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery. Barbara was born September 3, 1938 in Bascom, Florida (Jackson County) to the late Henry Langston and Mary Jane Pollock Langston. She was a member of Rivers of Life Church of Brandon, Florida, where she served on the usher board and a member of the choir. She was united in holy matrimony to Hardy T. Williams, Sr. in 1957. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Mrs. Barbara Williams accepted Christ at an early age and attended the public schools of Jackson County. She was employed by Hillsborough County Schools for 13 years and later retired in 1991. She was a private daycare provider of Barbara's Home Daycare for 13 years. Barbara was a renewed music teacher in the Tampa Bay area from 1975-1991 She was also a renowned Quartet gospel singer in the Tampa Bay area and surrounding cities. Barbara also enjoyed shopping and cooking. She leaves to cherish a legacy of love and precious memories with her devoted husband, Hardy T. Williams, Sr.; 3 devoted children: Hardy T. Williams Jr. (Jacquelynn) of Miami, FL; Debra L. McCalla (Ernesto) of Tampa, FL and Patrick Williams (Terri) of Tampa, FL; 2 beloved granddaughters, Ashley Montgomery and Imani Mobley of Tampa, FL; 5 grandsons, Reishard J. Montgomery, Dexter Mobley, Terrell Mobley, Tarrik Williams all of Tampa, FL and Zavier Williams of Miami, FL; 4 treasured great grandchildren, Tiyrel Montgomery, Tiyler Montgomery, Tiyrah Montgomery and LeTory Carter all of Tampa, FL; 6 sisters-in-law, Carrie Mae Langston of Marianna, FL, Mary Neal of Tampa, FL, Daisy Curry of Bascom, FL, Bernice Patterson of, Bascom, FL, Florine Williams of Miami, FL and Ruthie Williams of Miami, FL; 2 brothers-in laws, Cornelius Williams (Ruthie) of Miami Florida and Wilson Williams (Florine) of Miami, FL; a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews and cousins; goddaughter, Betty Sharp; and dear friends, Mamie Williams and Martha Tolbert of Tampa, Florida. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, September 20th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church for the service on Saturday.
