Obituary

The Mass of the Resurrection service for the repose of the soul, Mrs. Beatrice T. Malone (Bea) of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2012, will be held on Saturday, February 11th, 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1203 N. Nebraska Ave., Father Hugh Chikawe, pastor officiating. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Beatrice T. Malone was born May 4, 1947 in Tampa, Florida. She attended the schools of Hillsborough County, graduating from Middleton Senior High, class of 1966. She was a member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church. Bea will be remembered for her loving and giving heart. She loved to listen to gospel music and was an avid fan of the Tampa Bay Rays and Tampa Bay Buccaneers sport teams. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and doing her hobbies. Bea was a very active member of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church. Prior to her health challenges, Bea faithfully participated in and supported ministries and organizations in her church. She was a member of the Council of Catholic Women (CCW), Seniors Ministry, Bereavement Ministry, Adult Choir and other committees for many years. Whenever she was unable to be present to participate in an event due to her health, her loyalty was shown by her contributing whatever was needed and her heartfelt interest in the successful outcome. The love and devotion Bea had for her church, family and friends will always be remembered. She was preceded in death by her father, James Davis, sister, Catherine Jones, brother, Alfonso Davis, granddaughter, Za'Nia Ciara Malone, maternal grandparents, Jesse and Maggie Turner and nephew, Nathan Jones. She leaves to cherish her memories: a loving and devoted husband, Ralph Malone, Sr.; loving son, Ralph Malone, Jr. (Stephanie); grandchildren, Briana Dexter and Jasmine Johnson; her mother, Viola Davis; sister, Rosa Lee Austin (Leon); brother, Lee Rogers Davis; step-sister, Dorothy Williams; aunt, Annie Laura; nieces, Iesha, Miesha, Patricia and Angela Davis; nephews, Alphonso Davis (Jackie), Alphonso Jackson, Willie Jones, Jr., and family, Dwight Jones (Wanda) and family, Kenneth Higdon and Carlton Curry; cousins, Rudolph Williams, James Williams (Dollie) and family, Albert Daniels, Jr., and family, Carlton Daniels and family, Marshall Daniels and family, Charlene Daniels and family, Parthenia Kelly and family, Walter Nelson, Jr., and family, Robert Nelson and family, Helen Boerick, Anthony Robinson and family, Derrick Jackson and family, Sonya Williams and family, Gwen Williams and family, Sharpe family, Randolph Williams, Jr. and family, Inez Russell and family, Irman Jean Barran and family, all of Coleman, Florida, Geraldine Boatwright, Cocoa, Florida; sisters-in-law, Cora Lee Malone, Gladys Williams (Julius) and Lutricia Bellamy; goddaughter, Michelle Collins; friends, Essie Dooley, Beatrice Lawton, Joyce Carpenter, Robert and Nada Harrison and Cynthia Few; and a host of other relatives, church family and friends. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, February 10th, from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
