Homegoing services for Mrs. Beatrice Lovett Lewter of Tampa who passed away Saturday, December 1, 2012, will be held Saturday, December 8th, at 11:00 a.m. at Greater Mt. Moriah Primitive Baptist Church, 1225 N. Nebraska Ave., Elder Benji S. McMiller, pastor elect, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Beatrice Lovett Lewter was born in Tampa, Florida to the late Rev. Hardy Lovett and Alberta Lovett Robinson on January 26, 1933. She attended the schools of Hillsborough County district, graduating from Middleton High School, class of 1949. She was a retired clerk with HRS for the State of Florida. Mrs. Lewter was a faithful member of the Greater Mt. Moriah P.B. Church for over 70 years, where she served an intricate part of founding the Music and Choral Department, a member of the No. 3 choir, advisor to the No. 4 Choir and a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the church. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Rev. James Lovett and Theodore Lovett. She is survived by her children, Leon Doby (Tina) and Linda Doby Williams (Gerard); two brothers, Johnny Lovett and Wendell Robinson; two sisters, Roberta Willis and Roberta Fields; grandchildren, Clarence Warren III (Kanesia), Tony Doby (Cecelia), Valinda Warren Lloyd, Benita Doby, Derek Doby, Adrian Doby, Daryah Doby, Cedric Prince and Chandler Houston, adopted grands; great grandchildren, Alicia Doby, Dajshon Malik, Christian Doby, Jada Lloyd and Nadia Lloyd; nieces, Renee Taylor and Trinica Taylor; cousin, Margie Lovett; extended family, Betty Anderson and family, Sharon Thompson and family, Barbara Johnson and family, Eldis Mitchell and family, John Lloyd, Joann Stubbs, Marsha Reddick and family, the Cross and Adam families, Valerie Houston, Wingfield family; and a host of other loved ones and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, December 7th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church for the service on Saturday.
