A homegoing celebration for Mr. Ben Plair, Jr. of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 will be held Saturday, June 10th, 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Progress Village, 8722 Progress Blvd. Dr. Sam Maxwell, Sr., pastor, officiating. The interment will be in Florida National Cemetery. Ben Plair, Jr. was born October 3, 1947 in Tampa, Florida. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of First Baptist Church of Progress Village. He was retired from the City of Tampa and was a proud United States Army Veteran. He attended the local schools of Hillsborough County and graduated from Middleton High School. Ben was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Louise Plair; sister, Dorothy Plair and brother, Michael Bennett. Ben leaves to cherish his precious memories with his devoted wife, Priscilla Plair; sons, James Plair (Pauline), Reginald Plair, Marcus Plair and Raymond Williams, Jr.; step-sons, Robert and Anthony Brown; grandchildren, Rekira Owens, Zenyetta, Charday, Shayla, Avianna, Cherelle, Tianna, Marcus V., Marcus D. Plair II and Anastasia Brown; great-children, Nykai Jackson, Anthony II and Aamir Langston; sisters, Mary Green, Jacqueline Causey and Mattie Diaz; brother, Freddie Plair; uncle, Fred Plair (Earthine); nieces and nephews, Lavena Exuma, Nathaniel Martin, Jr., Michael Green, Michelle, Tracy and Dominque Plair, Felicia Jackson, Ebony Lampkin, Padrica Causey and Daundrea Butler; brothers-in-law, Clarence, McKinley and William Pinkney; sister-in-law, Annette Bennett; special cousin, Min. Reginald Washington (Cynthia); a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends. The visitation will be at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, June 9th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
