The celebration of the life of Benjamin Alexander Chapman Jr. (Alex), who was called home Monday, February 14th, will be held Saturday, February 26th at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Dr. Victor Ball officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Alex was a native of Tampa, Florida, born on May 12, 1982. He attended the public schools of Hillsborough County and last attended King High School. He studied Hotel and Restaurant Management at the Job Corp. in Lexington, KY. He was very fond of Air Jordon athletic shoes and he loved spectator sports, especially basketball. He enjoyed listening to Rap music. Bones Thugs and Harmony were his favorite rap group. Alex was a kind, good-hearted young man and was well loved by his little sisters and brothers, and his many family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Willie Frank Chapman Sr. and English Harris Sr.; great grandparents, William and Orpie Lee Christian, Blake Sr. and Rosa Lee Harris, Henry and Mary Chapman, Willie D. and Janie Mae Blackshear; uncles Oliver (Baby) Chapman, Willie Frank Chapman Jr. and Melvin Acree. He leaves to cherish fond memories, very loving and devoted parents, Benjamin Sr. and LaShawnda Chapman; five (5) sisters, Brandi Alexandria LaShawn, Kierra LaShawn, Charlia Tralynn, Rhiannon Felicia, and Charlesia LaSandra Chapman; three (3) brothers; Michael Anthony, Darius Marquis Rashad, and Jawaun Antonio Chapman; grandmothers, Barbara J. Harris and Ella Rose Chapman; aunts, Angela (Erickson) Amida, Valerie Chapman, Kitrina (Douglas) Bearden of San Antonio, Texas, and Cassandra (Larry) James of Albany, GA.; uncles, Jackie (Elizabeth) Chapman, Charles (Sandra) Chapman, Bruce (Sandra) Chapman, Eric (Margaritta) Chapman, English (Gina) Harris Jr., Terry King and Kevin Acree of Albany, GA.; favorite great aunts, Carolene Sherman, Tammie Davis and Beatrice Powell; favorite great uncles, Clifford (Denise) Christian, M.C. Christian; special cousins, Brandon Chapman, Mario Chapman, Amanda Johnson, Brian (B.J.) Sherman, and English Harris III; best friend, Donnell (Tiffany) Poole, and other special friends; Carlissa Brumback, Robert Cleveland and a host of other loving cousins, relatives and friends. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home from 5-8p.m., Friday, February 25th. The family will receive friends from 6-7p.m. For the Homegoing services, friends and family are asked to meet at the Aikens Funeral Home Chapel at 1:45 p.m. Saturday.
