Benjamin Bludsaw, Jr., affectionately known as "Booney," was born on November 13, 1944, in Tampa, Florida, to the late Benjamin Bludsaw, Sr. and Hilda Bludsaw. He lived a full and meaningful life, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter and cherished memories. Benjamin dedicated many years of service to the Longshoremen's Association, Local 1402, where he worked faithfully until his retirement. He also spent time working with Sykes Security. Known for his strong work ethic and commitment, he took pride in providing for his family. A man who truly enjoyed life, Benjamin loved bringing people together. He was well known for hosting lively barbecues filled with good food, drinks and even better company; where everyone was always welcome. He had a passion for building barbecue grills, fishing and relaxing while listening to his favorite old-school music. Benjamin shared a loving bond with his longtime friend and devoted wife of 20 years, Bobbie Jean Petty Bludsaw. Together, they built a life rooted in friendship, love and companionship.
Benjamin was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Bludsaw, Sr. and Hilda Bludsaw.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Bobbie Petty Bludsaw; his sons, Damien Bludsaw (La'Toya) and Antonio Bludsaw (Sabrina); his grandchildren, Monica, Alex, Mesha, Tony, Myania and Malachi; and his great-grandchildren, Ava and Alania. He is also survived by his sisters, Evelyn L. Williams, Shirley A. Johnson, Nita Durant and Linda D. McCollum; his brothers, George Bludsaw (Joyce) and Horace Bludsaw; his devoted friend, Bernard Snead; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Benjamin will be remembered for his generosity, his love for family and friends and the joy he brought to every gathering. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
