A Homegoing Celebration for Benjamin 'Ben' York of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2019 will be held Saturday, October 19th, 2:30 p.m. at The Center for Manifestation, 3102 E. Lake Ave., Apostle Mark T. Jones, pastor, with Rev. Ala Faye Vickers-Nelson, Pastor of Holy Outreach for Christ Church officiating. The interment will be held in Orange Hill Cemetery. Ben was born April 20, 1964 in Clarendon, North Carolina to the late Prentice Kenneth York and Ethel Rene York. He enjoyed telling jokes, making people laugh, cooking, spending time with family and making money. He attended Holy Outreach for Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, aunts, Bertha Longs Paygett, Elousie McCallum, Sue Austin and Lettie May Simmons; uncle, Hubert Washington, Rufus Bellamy and Donnie Ray Washington, Walter and Rodrick Revear. He leaves to cherish his precious memories with his daughter, Tracy York; son, Benjamin York, Jr.; granddaughter, Paris McFadden; grandson, Major York; girlfriend, Michelle Brown; brothers, Jimmy Washington, Kenneth, Tony and Lee York; sisters, Veronica, Darlene and Contrilla York; aunt, Ala Faye Nelson-Vickers and Betty Washington; uncles, Joseph (Lottie) and Herbert Washington (Wendy Hamilton); nieces, Nayshmiah Hampton, Kendra Revear, Aerivs Blue, Gabriel, Kendra, Lea and Lenija York; nephews, Ahmir York, Roger Toliver, Michael Nelson-Vickers, Tony Henry, Tony York, Jr., Dontae York, Nishir York and DayQuan Crew; stepchildren, Keyjuan and Kiana Brown. The visitation will be held at The Center for Manifestation on Friday, October 18th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
