Funeral services for Mrs. Bernice Ada Edmond, 91, of Tampa, who passed away on Friday April 11, 2014 in Lawrenceville, Georgia will be held on Tuesday, April 22nd, 11:00 a.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Progress Village, Pastor Antwoyn Mells with Elder Clarence Norton, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Bernice was born to the union of the late George and Ada Williams on January 20, 1923 in Tampa, Florida. She attended Hillsborough County Public Schools and was employed in Hillsborough County. She was a faithful member of Mount Calvary and Progress Village Seventh Day Adventist Church. On October 7, 1947 she married the late Lee Oliver Edmond, Sr., who preceded her in death on March 2, 1983. They resided in Tampa, Florida and to their union three children were born. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Theodore, Ernest, George and Robert Williams, two sisters, Violate Norton and Liza Godwin; and two step-sons, Ellis and Lee Edmond II. She leaves to cherish her memories with her children, Lee Oliver Edmond III, Tampa, FL, Gloria Kohn and husband, Theodore, Columbia, SC, Ronnie Edmond and wife, Jan, Margate, FL, step-sons, Ralph Edmond and wife, Callie and Walter Edmond, Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Shannon Sweeney, Lawrenceville, GA, Tamara Sanders and husband, DeAngelo, Sr., Lee Oliver IV, Chyrell Edmond, Yolanda Edmond, Aaron Hankerson, Sr., Tampa, FL, Amberly Edmond, San Diego, CA, Ronnie Edmond, Jr. and Tierra Edmond, Columbia, SC; great grandchildren, Ja'Kayla Lucas, Tyvan Sunday, Jr., Tampa, FL, Joshua and Jorden Elebor, Lawrenceville, GA, DeAngelo, Jr. and Zaria Sanders, Aaron, Jr. and Leilani Hankerson; and a host of other great grandchildren of Tampa, FL; sisters, Gertrude Burney and Ethel Rogers, Tampa, FL; godchildren, Valricia Edwards and Rebecca McNeal; and a host of nieces and nephews and other family and friends; close friends of the family, Bennie and Delores Jones and family, Linda Johnson and family, Myrtel Mitchell and family and Sister Munford. The visitation will be held on Monday, April 21st from 4 to 7 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home. The family and friends are asked to meet at the Kingdom Hall on Tuesday for the service.
