Mrs. Bernice H.
McAllister
Aug 28, 1934 — Jun 15, 2026
Mrs. Bernice Helmes McAllister was born on August 28, 1934, in Henry County, Alabama, to the late James and Beadie Lee Helmes.
Following her education, she was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Rueben McAllister. Together, they shared a lifelong bond of love, devotion, and commitment. Their union was blessed with one son, Rodney McAllister, whose arrival brought immeasurable joy, laughter, and purpose to their lives.
At an early age, Bernice accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She later became a faithful member of Mission Hill Church, where she worshiped and served.
Bernice dedicated many years of service to GTE Telephone Company, where she was a valued employee until her retirement. She was known for her warm spirit, vibrant personality, and ability to make friends wherever she went. Her kindness and smile endeared her to coworkers and countless friends throughout her life.
Bernice was rarely without a cherished fur baby by her side. Long before it became popular, she was proudly devoted to her beloved French Poodles, which became a signature part of her life and brought her great companionship and joy.
Bernice lived a life marked by love, faith, dedication, and grace. She leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving and devoted son, Rodney McAllister; her granddaughters, Renee Moore and TaNea Merritt; her great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family members, friends, neighbors, and loved ones who will forever treasure her memory.
Though she has departed this earthly life, her legacy of love and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
"Well done, good and faithful servant." Matthew 25:23
