Homegoing services for Mother Berta Lee Showers "Granny" of Tampa who passed away, Sunday, October 27, 2013, will be held Saturday, November 9th, 2:00 p.m., at College Hill Church of God In Christ, 6414 N. 30th Street, Elder Charles Davis, pastor with Elder Eddie Mathis, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Berta Lee Showers was born on October 22, 1922 in Dawson, Georgia. She was a member of College Hill Church of God In Christ. She enjoyed attending church, loving on the family she left behind and a legacy for those to follow. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie Stewart, Sr. and Alberta Swan Stewart, brothers, Charlie, Albert, George and Jack Stewart, sisters, Jesse Mae Tobles and Mary Dimpson; daughters, Lizzybell Stewart and Maxina Riley; grandson, Octavius Showers and great grandson, Octavian Chapelle Williams. She is survived by her children, Raymond Marshall, Robert Marshall (Mary), Daniel Showers, Ruby Marshall, Alberta Showers Duval (George), Loretha Porter, Geraldine Riley and Willie Mae Black; grandchildren, Sundaye Showers, Daniel Showers, Jr., Tonya Showers, Efrem Williams (Mareah), Natasha Williams, Satresha Showers, Tasheca Showers, Ashley Nathan, Carly Cobbert, Kenya James, Kenny Porter, Dee Dee Porter, Damian Porter, Yanisha Thompson, Kisha Brown, Anessa Freeman, Raquilia Freeman, Corey Riley, Victor Tamburro, Kevin Black, Queodatus Black, Danny, Booker T., Colin and Broderick Jordan, Wilshawn Worlds and Willisha Black and grandchildren from Georgia; only sister, Joelle Roberts; and a host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins; special friends, Howard Johnson, Annie Hawkins, Dorothy and Sally Futch; and a host of other sorrowing family and friends. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, November 8th from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
