Obituary

Homegoing services for Mrs. Bertha Mae Brown of Tampa, who passed away Saturday, July 4, 2015, will be held Saturday, July 11th, 2:00 p.m. at Triumph and Deliverance Cathedral Church of God in Christ, 8525 N. 78th Street, Elder Elvis Piggot, pastor with Pastor Ala Faye Vickers of Holy Outreach for Christ Church, officiating. The interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Bertha was born to the late John and Alberta Love on August 17, 1934. She enjoyed playing cards, keeping her grandchildren and cooking. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sammie Jake Brown; sisters, Angeline B. Ponds, Clara M. Johnson and Debra McClain; brother, Malachi Riggins and grandson, Johnny Brown. She leaves to cherish her memories: children, Marie Murillo, Thomas L. Brown, Sammie L. Brown, Marilyn Brown Williams (James) all of Tampa, Herbert L. Brown of Germany, Gregory Brown (Carolyn) of Maryland, Tangelous Love Wingfield (Gary) of Tampa, Sherril Brown of Georgia, Troy Brown and Alberta Brown of Tampa and Frank Johnson (Beverly) of Live Oak; 44 grandchildren; 87 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; brothers; Kelly Riggins of Orange City and Robert Lee Cooper of Ft. Lauderdale; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Annise Robinson and Robert Earl Brown; and best friend, Edna Reynolds. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, July 10th, from 5-8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. The friends and family are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
