Homegoing Services for Mrs. Bertha Butler "Coot" of Tampa who passed away, Monday, December 10, 2012, will be held on Saturday, December 22nd, 10:00 a.m., Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery graveside, 4615 E. Hanna Ave., Rev. Frizzell Byrd, Jr., officiating. Interment will follow service. Bertha was born February 11, 1956 in Camilla, Georgia to the late Frizzell and Verdella Byrd, Sr. She attended the schools of Hillsborough County. Bertha enjoyed volunteering at Highland Avenue Missionary Baptist Church. She loved to shop and spend time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Shemeka Butler, brothers, Russell James Byrd and Willie Fred Byrd and sister-in-law, Glenda Byrd and niece, Sandra Byrd. She leaves to cherish her memory: children, Rhonda Butler, Andre Butler and Benal Sims; grandchildren, Destiny Roker, Danisha Roker, Beniya Sims, Shaniqua Edwards and Jermaine Wimbley; great grandchild, Elijah Ghant; brothers, Rev. Frizzell Byrd, Jr. and wife, Katherine and Cornelius Byrd; nieces, Theresa Byrd, LaTroya Byrd, Linda Byrd, Briana Byrd and Synai Byrd; nephews, James Byrd, Antonio Wallace, Cornelius Byrd, Jr., Frizzell Byrd III, Russell Byrd, Jr., Ronald Byrd, DeAndre Byrd and Aaron Campbell; special cousins, Annie Ruth Lee and Debra Alexander; friends, ReTronda Jones, Sheila Lee, Gale Hearn and Evelyn Miller; and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, December 21st from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the gravesite on Saturday for the service.
