Homegoing services for Mrs. Bertha Lee Latta of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Friday, May 25, 2012, will be held Friday, June 1st, 11:00 a.m. at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. MLK Jr. Blvd, with Rev. Charlie Westbrookes, Jr., officiating. Interment will be in Rest haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Bertha was a devout Christian and enjoyed cooking, shopping, taking care of others and fishing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Latta; daughters, Betty Melton and Alberta Gordon; son, Hamp Calhoun; parents John Smiley (Kallie), Smiley Cole; sister, Minerva Alexander and granddaughter, Raynell Latta. She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories daughter, Barbara Conage; son, Chatz Latta; and son-in-law, Willie Conage; grandchildren, Katrina, Sherica, William (Keshia), William and Monique Conage, Tommie Lee, Sharon Derwin (Earl), Willis, Valena, Reginald (Linda) and Terrance Reeves, Ronald Marshall (Charlene), Eugene Gilbert, Shawn Condry (Andrew), Coronica Calhoun, Reynaldo and Tiffany Gordon; great grandchildren, Marissa and Ronald Marshall, Jr. Jazmine, Janae, Precious, Callie, Nehemiah and Jayden Conage, Sherell and Herbert Christopher, Willeshia and Zykettia Coachman, Ebony Hamilton, Brittany Howie, Caitlin Condry, Tavaris Taylor, Jerrell Latta and Antoniesha Staten; niece, Diane Young; nephews, Albert and Calvin Alexander; cousin, Willie Smiley; and a host of other relatives and special friends, Earl (Willie Mae Lane), Trudie Mae Willis, Alonzo Glover, Ronald Mathis, Reginald Roach and the Davis Family. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Thursday, May 31st, from 4-7 p.m. The friends and family are asked to meet at the Chapel on Friday for the service.
