Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Betty Jean Adkins who passed away Saturday April 13, 2013. The viewing will be held Friday, April 19th at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. with Rev. H.M Harp, officiating. Mrs. Betty Jean Adkins was born September 6, 1949 to the late Nathaniel Adkins Sr. and Elizabeth Lucinda Hicks. Betty enjoyed shopping, taking care of her family, and cooking a delicious pot of beans. She attended the schools of Hillsborough County. She was preceded in death by grandparents, George and Annie Andrews; mother, Elizabeth Wright; father, Nathaniel Adkins; daughter, Andrea Tolliver, aunt, Annie German; uncle, Elbert Hicks and great cousin, Lakesha Hicks. She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories with daughter, Lilnetta Adkins; sons, Nathaniel and James Adkins (Renae); grandchildren, Tynese Archienna, Demontrae, Devon, Arthur, Artrelle, Brittany, James, Jeremiah and Tylia; aunt, Mary Lois Hawkins (Eugene); uncle, George Hicks; cousins, Lola (Clem), Linda (Doug), Jesse Jr., Deborah, Patricia (Duane), Barbara, Ivy, (Jessica), Greg, Ray, Angelica, Angela and Rodney; 28 great cousins, devoted friends, Sandra, Connie, Kathy and Willie Earl and a host of sorrowing family and friends. The visitation will be held Friday, April 19th from 5 to 8 p.m. at Aikens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m.
