Betty Jean Clayton was born on April 28, 1932, to the late Mr. & Mrs. Clarence and Eula Doyle. She attended the public schools of Gasden County and graduated from Hillsborough High School, Tampa, Florida. Betty was preceded in death by her sons, Willie Lindsey and Michael Lindsey; grandsons, William Weems and Lamean Lawson; sisters, Miriam Holmes and Mertdell McKenney; and brother, Alphonso Doyle. At an early age, Betty accepted the Lord Jesus as her personal savior and kept that relationship until her demise. She leaves to cherish her memories, husband, Artis L. Clayton; daughters, Mary Jones (Sheraton), Brenda Thomas, Rosita Clayton; sons, Frederick Gallon, Gifford Lindsey, Patrick Williams, Rex Williams and Joseph Williams; 25 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Lillian Thomas (Moses), Linda McCardy and Claretha Nickelson (Harvey), sisters-in-law, Marie Doyle, Mercedes Bolden, Hazel Clayton and Hattie Mae William; aunts, Idella Mills (Namon), Katherine Gainous and Bertha Edwards, all of Tampa; and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends.
