Sis. Betty was born on January 17, 1942, in Tampa, FL to the late Deacon Arnold and Deaconess Vera Fields. She was one of ten siblings, five have preceded her in death. She was educated in the Florida Public School System and earned her B.A. (Born Again) degree. She was formerly married to Willie W. Glenn, Sr., who preceded her in death and together they had four children. Sis. Betty began her Christian walk at First Baptist Church of College Hill, Glorious C.O.G.I.C. – Pastor Dr. C. L. Kennedy, The Word of Reconciliation – The late Pastor Ronald E. Fields, and returned home to First Baptist Church of College Hill in 2014.
Her passion was teaching Sunday School, which she did for many years. She was employed
by the City of Tampa for 32 years in the Human Resource Department, where she formed a close relationship with Latonya Fowler, Rosa Jones, Ken Perry, and Ricky Bell. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael G. Glenn; grandson, Michael G. Glenn, Jr.; and siblings, Vera Mae Prince, Dolores F. Green, Pastor Ronald E. Fields, Jr., Robert H. Fields, and Arnold Fields, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memories, children, Deacon Willie "Teddy" Glenn, Jr., Adrean M. Varnadore (Jimmy), and Daryl D. Glenn; siblings, Eartha C. Thomas (Dennis), Thelma B. Stafford, Patricia D. Johnson (Arthur), and Sharon J. Canty (Lenzo); sisters-in-law, Hazel Fields and Edwina Fields; grandchildren, Willie "TJ" Glenn, Dr. Jamaris L. Glenn, Latasha N. Glenn, Temeka R. Grayson (Enrique), Catarolyn M. Glenn, Corey J. Hall, Cateisha M. Glenn, April N. Glenn (Anthony), Antoinette Glenn, Andraya M. Young, Alisha M. Varnadore, Jimmy C. Varnadore, III, Terica M. Glenn, Daralyn D. Sanders (DeAngelo), Latoya L. Glenn, and Daryl D. Glenn, Jr.; and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
