Betty was born in Tampa, Florida on July 7, 1953, to the late Arthur Everett and Minnie Young. Betty attended McDonald Training Center, where she was awarded many certificates during her time at the center. Betty was employed at Tampa General Hospital, where she continued to bring joy and happiness to everyone she met.

Bettys hobbies were painting, jewelry making and seek and find puzzles. Betty was a longtime member of Friendly M.B. Church. She served on the Usher Board and the Home Mission Auxiliaries. Betty leaves to cherish her memories: her sister, Deloris Anderson and brother-in-law, Albert Anderson; nephews and nieces, Carlton Myles (Monica), Anthony Myles (Annette), Benita Snyder, Andrea Jenkins-Hydes, Frederick Jenkins (Lisa), Rhodda Doresy (Marlon), Arthur Young, Cedrick Young, Jamila Brascomb (Kenneth), Robert Ryan (Laurinda), Edward Ryan, and Jason Ryan; a special friend, Phyllis Simpson James; and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins and close friends.
