Obituary

A Homegoing Celebration for Mrs. Beulah Mae Mitchell Robinson, 4904 S. 87th St. (Progress Village), who passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2009, will be held Saturday, May 16th, 11:00 a.m., at Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. MLK Jr. Blvd., Dr. Samuel Maxwell, Pastor/Teacher of First Baptist Church of Progress Village, officiating, Rev. Louis Jones, eulogist. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Robinson was born October 22, 1936, in Tampa, FL, to the late Albert, Sr. and Maude Mitchell. She was a graduate of Middleton High School, class of 1954. Sister Robinson was a former member of First Baptist Church of Progress Village and Hood's Temple A.M.E. Zion. She was very active in church and was the person in charge of breakfast at church on Sunday's. She sung in the #1 Choir, Wms. Jubillee Met. Chorus (St. Luke A.M.E.), secretary of Choir Union #2 and was a member of the Eastern Star's until her health failed. She was preceded in death by her husband; both parents; 1 brother; and 5 sisters. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: daughter, Janice Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Ramon Fitzgerald, Sidney Simpson, Lashawn Simpson and Michelle Saffore; great-granddaughter, Antonia B.; brothers, Albert (Barbara) Mitchell, Jr. and family and Kenneth Joe Kennedy; sisters, Ruth Mitchell, Eugenie Shuler, Mary Ponder, of Largo, FL, Daisy McCray and Debra, of Rochester, NY; family she worked for and loved her as their own, the Shines and her special girl, Barbara and husband, Buck; uncle, Leroy (Bernice) Mitchell; nieces, Cassie (Daniel) Hoyte and family, Oral, Hugh, William and Patricia, Rhonda (Danny) Pinkerton, Nell and family, Aundria (Ryan) McLendon, Regina (Jr.), Linda Ferrell and family, Sheila (Victor) Cash and family, Connie and Sylvia and family, Angela, Carol and Recia; nephews, Reginald Montgomery, Ronald Montgomery, Albert McCarthon, Zeron McCarthon, Leroy Allen, Jr. and family, David and Carlton (Latrice) McCarthon, Derrick McCarthon, Ken (Johnny Mae) Fowler, David (DeLois) McCray, Albert McCray, Michael and Kelvin McCray and family, John J. The remains will repose at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, May 15th, from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Family and friends are asked to meet at the chapel approximately 10:45 a.m. Saturday for the service.
