Obituary

Homegoing services for Mrs. Beverlyn Denise Staten, of 1321 Floating Fountain Circle, who passed away, Thursday, April 1, 2010, will be held on Saturday, April 10th, at 11:00 a.m., Aikens Funeral Home Chapel, 2708 E. Dr. M.L. King, Jr. Blvd, Pastor Sheila Blanco Pedosa, presiding. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. On August 10, 1959, Beverlyn Denise Staten was born to the union of Isabella Theresa Staten and Samuel Lee Staten, Sr. (both deceased), in Eustis, Florida. She was the eighth of nine siblings. Her family moved to Hillsborough County in 1966 where she resided until her demise on April 1, 2010, at Life Path Hospice Center inn Tampa, Florida, after a short-term illness. Her memories will be shared by her children: Cheketha LaTia Smith, daughter and DeJong Tomah Lomax, son; godson, Demarkis Staten; goddaughter, Nepharteria McGill; soulmate, Willie Dee (Ohio) Turner, Tampa; her siblings, Patricia A. Bingham, (Orlando), Verdell Garrick (Williston), Jimmy Staten (Graceville, FL), Susan A. Staten, and Willie Staten (Tampa); sister-in-law, Linda Staten (Tampa); aunts, Helen Lester (Orlando) and Mary Blanco (Tampa); special cousin-aunt, Louise Morris (Tampa); nieces, Lashawn R. Collins, Crystal L. Collins, Vanessa Staten, Sonya M. Smith, RaYelle Garrick, Nicole Staten, Tyneisha Staten, Wyneshia Staten, Somotheria Staten, Quaneshia Staten, Javontaye Staten, Lisa Staten, Niema Isabella Staten, and nephews, Samuel Staten, III, Carl (Chico) Howell, Jr., Anthony (Kojax) Howell, Robert Howell, Lamar Staten, Willie Staten, Jr., Willie Staten, III, Xzavier Staten, Christian Staten, Antwan Staten and Jimmy Staten and a host of grandnieces and grandnephews, great grandnieces and nephews; special friend: David Lomax, and treasured cousins and friends. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, April 9th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the Chapel for the service on Saturday.
