Obituary

A Homegoing Celebration for Bishop Willie Clarence Barb of Tampa, Florida who passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2021 will be held on Saturday, May 22nd, 2:30 p.m. at Exciting Faith Alive Church, 5705 E. 32nd Avenue, Pastor Antonio Hawkins with Elder James E. Williams, officiating. The interment will be held in Rest Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.

Bishop Barb was born on September 13, 1945 in Tampa, Florida to the parentage of Mr. Willie Authur Barb and Jeanette Mingo-Barb. As a child, he grew up in the Hyde Park and West Tampa area. He attended Hillsborough County Public Schools and graduated from Middleton High School in 1964. He then went on to FAMU on a baseball scholarship. He came back to Tampa and got married September 9, 1966 to Mother Paulette Barb and have been married for 54 years. Bishop Barb was saved in 1969 under Bishop Amos Jackson, and soon afterwards, God blessed him with his own church and ministry, where he began his mission of helping others and preaching the Word of God. Bishop was well-known all-over Tampa and was often referred to as 'The Walking Bible'. He was also known for his leadership and coaching for Belmont Heights Little League Baseball team. Bishop Barb touched so many lives and he will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his father; Willie Authur Barb; mother, Jeanette Mingo-Barb; daughter, Regina Mobley; son, Michael C. Barb and sister, Marcella Parker. Bishop Barb leaves behind a devoted and loving wife, Mother Paulette Barb; 1 son, Darrell C. Barb (Cassie May); 2 brothers, Authuro Barb-Mingo and Danny Barb; 1 son-in-law, Jimmie L. Mobley; grandchildren, Keaira Mobley, Jimmie G. Mobley, Emmesha Mobley, Darrell C. Barb Jr., DaQuan Barb, Deja Barb and Jessica Boyd; great-grandchildren, KeAvia Mobley, Emmiyah Bunkley, Jamaurice A. Burgess Jr., Jai'Elle Burgess, Jaliyah Mobley, Da'Sani Barb, Zyron, Dakarai, Gianni, Kayden, Kaycee and DaQuan Jr., niece, Yuwonda Parker and family; cousins, James Earl McWhite and family; The Mingo Family; Spiritual Daughter, Sis. Wendy Barnes (husband- Minister Frank Barnes) a host of family from Miami, Ft. Lauderdale and Tampa, Florida; a host of other beloved family and friends; special friend and confidant; Pastor John Jerelds (wife Mother Janice Jerelds).

The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, May 21st from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service. We are following the CDC guidelines.
