Homegoing celebration for Mr. Bobby McIntyre "Robert Hicks" of Tampa who passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2015 service will be held Saturday, January 24th at 11:00 a.m., St. John Progressive M.B. Church, 2504 E. Chipco Street, Rev. Dr. Bartholomew Banks, pastor with Minister Leroy Chatman, officiating. The interment will be at Sunset Memory Gardens, Thonotosassa, Florida. Mr. Bobby McIntyre "Robert Hicks" was born December 19, 1951. He was educated in the public schools of Hillsborough County and also attended Hillsborough Community College - Liberal Arts. He served honorably during the Vietnam War in the United States Army; he loved serving his country and being a part of the armed forces. He was employed by several Tampa shipyards as a Quality Assurance Inspector and retired in 2008. He also worked in the shipping industry as a Welder and a Journeyman throughout out the United States. He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Duke McIntyre; his mother, Willie Mae Bishop; 2 brothers, Carl Bishop and Walter McIntyre. His memory will be cherished by his caring and devoted wife, Suzan McIntyre; son, Bobby Isaiah McIntyre; daughters, Desiree Hicks (Terrance), Latasha Hicks, Dauphine Simmons, Kena Hicks, SSgt. Ebony Williams, United States Air Force (John) and Amber McIntyre; grandchildren; Brittany Wilson, Shaniquia (Ki-Ki) Finch, E-4 United States Navy, Damion Finch, Dionte' Christopher, Typhani Allen, Neven Clark, Nyen Clark, and Kelis Jackson; great-grandsons, Brandyn Mask and Braylon Christopher and Ayden Colbert; sisters, Audrey Miller (James) and Sylvia Douglas; brother, Melvin Underwood; nieces, Tamaka Simmons, Keyshonna and Kreshara Miller; nephews, Johnny Wells, Antwan Wells, Derrek Wells and Anthony Wells; cousin, Andre King (JC) and relatives from Waycross, GA; special family friend, Rodney Jones. The visitation will be held at Aikens Funeral Home on Friday, January 23rd from 5 to 8 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
