Obituary

Homegoing services for Booker T. Turner of 3401 E. Deleuil who passed away Friday, January 22, 2010, will be held Saturday, January 30th, 2:00 p.m. at Kingdom Worship Center, 1102 E. Fowler Avenue, Minister Benjamin Turner, officiating. Interment will be in Orange Hill Cemetery. Mr. Booker was born May 24, 1929 in Birmingham, Alabama and was a longtime resident of Tampa. Mr. Turner was of the Methodist faith. He enjoyed spending time with family, playing the guitar, singing and reading. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosa and Oscar Turner, brothers, Frank, M.L. and Joseph Turner, sisters, Mary Preston and Rebecca Armstrong. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Doris R. Brown Turner; children, Thelma Brown, Bernice Pugh, Shirley Ann Turner, Cynthia Turner Williams and husband, Danny, Barbara Turner, Danny Ty Turner, Benjamin Turner and wife, Chairty, Denise Turner, Janice Turner-Boswell and husband, Darrain and Anthony Charles Turner; grandchildren, Alfred Bryant, Alissa Taylor, Eric and Michael Turner, Jasmine Boswell, Benjamin, Jr., DeShae, Kristy and Tiffany Turner, Jessica and Dwayne N. Robinson, Jr., Lisa and Devonne Turner, Ashley and Jermaine Pugh, Bryan Bishop, Devante Bennett, Brandon Turner, Christopher and Christina Williams; 13 great grandchildren; sisters, Nellie Scott and husband, James, Thelma Daniels and Lorraine Woodruff; nieces, Ethel Sams and Frances Nappier; nephews, David Myers, Sr., Earnest Tarpley, Charles Woodruff, Andrew Brown, Alton Tarpley and Robert Brown; great nephews, Dexter Myers, Reginald Myers, Sr., (Quadeline), James Sams, Jr., David Myers, Jr., Brandon Myers; great nieces, Andreca Bludsaw and Stephanie Atkins; sisters-in-law, Ethel Lee Brown, Norris Myers, Cleo Davis and husband, Clifford; and family friend, Willie James Barr and family. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday evening. The family will receive friends from 6:30-7:30 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church for the service on Saturday.
