Brenda Joyce Johnson was born January 20, 1953, to the late Clarence Johnson, Sr. and Vera Lee Johnson. She attended Hillsborough County Public Schools; graduated from Middleton Senior High in 1971, where she was a member of the track team. Brenda was rooted in her faith, family and friends. She loved sewing, and spending time with her cherished "Golden Girls" friends. Throughout her career, Brenda dedicated herself to helping others, working for the Veterans Administration and University Community Hospital as a patient sitter. Her spirit of generosity was evident through her countless acts of service to others, as she often delivered food and clothing to those in need. Brenda lived life to the fullest and was known for being the life of the party. She was always ready to dance and bring joy to those around her. On Friday, May 9, 2025, Brenda J. Johnson gained her heavenly wings. She is now resting in the Lord's arms.

Brenda was preceded in death by daughter, Felecia Demerson; granddaughter, Felecia "Sugar Plum" Williams; brothers, Clarence Johnson, Jr., and Nathaniel Johnson; sister, Pauline Hemmingway; and  sister-in-Christ, Rosalind Larry.

Brenda is survived by her children, Tricia Johnson, and Rebecca Brown (Bobby, Jr.); grandchildren, Karl Reed, Jr, Michael Tiller, Jr, Bobby Brown III, Ahmarean Brown, Jeromecia Williams, Zhanye Brown, Brenda Holder, Ca'Dyn Brown, Zoee Brown, Shakelia Givens, Charlecia Adams, and Antinique Girven; great-grandchildren, Cha'Rai Grant, Gizelle Pierre, Ronald Pierre, Jr., Serenity Pierre, Myah Brown, Lulani Najih, and Rian Brown; brothers, Jimmie Johnson and Bobbie Johnson; sisters, Elizabeth Williams and Christine Johnson; niece, Rashida Johnson; cousin, Sheila Walker; best friend, Gwendolyn Cooley; special friend, Eugene Cato; sister-in-Christ, Christine Poole; Bryant, Aldridge, Turner families, and Circle of Mothers.
