Homegoing services for Mr. Broadus Jones "BJ" of 4004 W. LaSalle St., who passed away, Thursday, November 19, 2009, will be held Saturday, November 28th, 11:00 a.m., St. John Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, 2504 E. Chipco, Rev. Bartholomew Banks, pastor officiating. Interment will be in Florida National Cemetery. Mr. Jones was born February 11, 1939 in Taylors, South Carolina. He was a member of St. John Progressive M.B. Church, an associate minister and a helper to all people. He was a sergeant in the United States Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents, Blanche and Freater Jones, brother, Marion Jones and sisters, Doris Martin, Betty Payne and Hattie Grady. He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and devoted wife, Daisy Jones; children, Sherriel (Marvin) Settles, Machelle Jones, Glen Jones, Mitchell (Kim) Henderson, Daniel Henderson, LaTanya (William) Jackson, Sabrina Hill, Crystal (Otis) Martin, Chester (Orchid) Henderson, Thelma Henderson and Lillie Johnson; grandchildren, Allyce, Mary-yelle, Anita, Nakeeda, Mitchell, Isaac, Maurice, LaKessiah, Kendrick, Danielle, Denzell, Irene, Rashard, Tanilya, Daron, Erica, Christie, Christopher, Dontavious, Jamarcus, Jameshia, Katina, Ashley, Nikolus, Jerrica, Santeara, Davon and Dre'Quez; great grandchildren, Elijah, Christopher, Briahana, Kaila, Amaria, Jada, Alyana, Torrie, Ava, Mikari and Jamyre; brother, Bobby (Betty) Jones; in-law, Thomas Grady; special friends, Shirley Minor, Gwen Legget, Ruby Sterling, Lois Worlds, Horace Canty, Otil Cooper, Shirley Jones, Fletcher Anderson and his pastor and First Lady Banks. The viewing will be held at Aikens Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m., November 27th, Friday evening. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The family and friends are asked to meet at the church on Saturday for the service.
